What is the city tax and who has to pay it?

In order to maintain Barcelona as a sustainable, competitive, quality destination with a tourism sector that generates added value, the city tax is collected from all guests staying at accommodations in the city. This tax applies only for the first 7 nights of your stay for all guests 17 years of age or older.

How do I book my apartment in Barcelona with APBCN?
Step 1
Get a quote: Check the availability of the apartment you wish to book here on our website and obtain an online quote for your requested dates by filling in the form on the apartment’s page. Indicate your arrival/departure dates and the number of people, and if there are children in your group. The site will immediately show you the availability and the price details for your requested dates. 

Step 2
Book your apartment: Your reservation will be confirmed once you have made the pre-payment of 35% of the total booking cost. The exact pre-payment amount for your reservation is indicated in the personalized quote for your dates and amount of persons. In order to confirm your reservation, we will also require your personal details and your arrival time to Barcelona as well as your mode of transport.

Step 3
Read your booking confirmation email and make sure all the details are correct. Notify us via email if something should be changed. Also read our email regarding you check-in procedure and the information about how to get to our office.
How do I pay my apartment reservation?
Prepayment amount - payment methods
The pre-payment amount is the pay-to-book amount, which is 35% of the price. This amount can be paid directly online using a secure payment system by credit card, PayPal or by requesting bank transfer details via email to info@apbcnapartments.com.

Remaining balance amount - payment methods
Upon arrival, before you get your keys, you should pay the remaining 65% of the reservation. You can choose how and when to pay the remaining balance:

Option 1: AUTOMATIC PAYMENT

Pay with credit card a few days before arriving to Barcelona and have the damage deposit blocked on your credit card before your arrival. This option is perfect for clients who want to have a smooth and quick check-in.

Option 2: PERSONAL PAYMENT
Pay personally at our office and have the damage deposit blocked on your credit card on your arrival day. This option is perfect for clients who want to pay the remaining balance in cash.

Do the prices include VAT?
Yes, all our prices include VAT.
What is the damage deposit?

The damage deposit - also called security deposit - is part of a routine procedure in order to ensure that our apartments are correctly taken care of by our guests. The damage deposit ranges from 150-500 EUR depending on the type of apartment and season. It will be blocked on your account through a credit card of your choice upon or before your check-in, depending on your choice of payment (see below). The damage deposit will be automatically unblocked by your bank approximately a week after, provided that the Terms & Conditions and the house rules have been respected. The amount is higher if the rental period is for a month or more.
Please note that we do not accept damage deposit in cash.

What is the cancellation policy?
In case of cancellation, no refund will be made on the pre-payment. However, you will be able to change the dates of your rental period (subject to availability) of the same apartment for the same price season. If you wish to select dates during a different season, you will be able to pay the price difference and avoid losing the pre-payment.
If you cancel with less than 30 days to your arrival, cancellation cost will represent 100% of the reservation.
In force majeure cases when an apartment will not be availble APBCN apbcnapartments will offer the client a property of similar characteristics or will offer to return the money.
Is there a minimum stay in the apartment?
Short stays of 1, 2 or 3 nights in low season are accepted except during special seasons such as congresses, festivals and similar events.
However, even during high season, gaps in our calendar sometimes make it possible for us to accept reservations of just one or two nights. Please contact our customer service to check the possibility to book an apartment with us for one or two nights.
What is the check-out time?
At the day of your departure, the latest check-out time is at 11AM. Please ask our office staff if you wish to check-out later. This service depends on the apartment’s availability.
Can I buy Barcelona City Tours and sightseeing attaction tickets through APBCN?
Yes you can. And if you buy your tickets through us you'll  and enjoy a discount. The amount of the discount depends on the type of service/ticket/attraction.

Check-in
When do I get the keys to the apartment?

We offer you 24h service. Reception is open from 9 to 21h from Monday to Sunday in our main office located at street Carrer de València, 32 - 08015 Barcelona (Google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/BT6zF) near Plaza España in central Barcelona. Nearest metro station is called Tarragona (green metro line).

Please note that we also offer automatic checkin in our apartments by night. Clients in this buildings will a personal access code that enables them to go straight to their building and enter the apartment starting at 3pm. Please ask our office.

Can I access the apartment earlier if I arrive before the check-in time?

In case you arrive earlier than 3PM and the apartment is available, the check-in can be done earlier. If the apartment is not yet ready, you can drop off your bags at our office and return to pick up your bags once the cleaning of the apartment is completed. Our office closes at 9PM and is located on street Carrer de València, 32 - 08015 Barcelona (Google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/BT6zF) near the Plaza España in central Barcelona. Nearest metro station is the Tarragona (green metro line).


Late check-in: What if I arrive late at night?
Thanks to our check-in machine located on street Valencia 32, we offer late check-ins free of charge for clients who require it. Be sure to let us know if you will arrive after 8.30PM in due time in order for us to prepare your late check-in. All late check-ins must be requested at least two days before arrival and confirmed by us via email in order to be valid.

The apartments in our Serra building and Eixample Center (Roger) building have automatic check-ins and no keys are required as the doors are opened with personal access codes. For all other apartments, our check-in machine located on street Valencia 32 enables us to offer late check-ins free of charge for clients who require it. A personalized late check-in can be arranged directly in the apartment upon previous request and must be confirmed by us via email in order to be accepted. The late check-in has an extra fee that goes directly to the check-in agent. Please contact us to know the amount as it depends on the arrival time and staff schedule.

For late arrivals we especially recommend our transfer service as the driver will provide check-in assistance by the check-in machine and then drive you to you apartment. You can book your transfer service by calling us or sending us an email to info@apbcnapartments.com

Please note:
Late check-in transfer requests must also be made at least two days before arrival and confirmed by us via email in order to be valid.

What is the best way to get to the check-in office?

Avoid cues and save time by booking our transfer service. We offer transfers from/to the airport/port/train station at very reduced prices. 

By booking our highly recommend transfer service you will have a professional English speaking driver waiting for you with a sign with your name at the arrivals lounge. The driver will take you from the aiport/port/train station to your apartment via our office to carry out the check-in process (note: if your flight arrives before 13:00, it only takes you to our office).

Late check-in: If you arrive after office hours, the driver will also provide check-in assistance by the check-in machine.

We use luxury minivans, luggage and baby seats included. Please make sure to provide the age of the children/babies if you require a child/infant car seat. Our transfer service can be booked upon making your reservation, by calling us or by sending us an email to info@apbcnapartments.com

Please note:
If your flight arrives before 1PM, it only takes you to our office where you can leave your bags until the check-in time 3PM.
Transfer requests must be made at least two days before arrival and confirmed by us via email in order to be valid.

Where is your reception located?

This is where all check-ins are processed and it is also the base for our maintenance and cleaning teams.

What are our reception opening hours?


We offer a 24h service. Our reception is open from Monday to Sunday from 9 to 9PM

Our apartments will be ready from 3PM.
In our waiting room you will have free access to coffee, tea, microwaves, fridge, computer to check your flights...

Where can I leave my luggage/baggage/bags?

You can leave your luggage ibn our office before your check-in or after your check-out. Please ask our receptionist
Remember check-in starts at 15:00 (3PM) and latest check-out time is at 11:00 (11AM).

Do you offer spaces for parking my car, motorcycle or bike?
We offer parking spaces in our main building located at street Carrer de València, 32 - 08015 Barcelona (Google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/BT6zF) for a daily rate of 20 EUR.

My Apartment
Does my apartment have metal keys, plastic cards or a digital access code?

Digital access codes: For the apartments in the buildings APBCN Serra on street Carrer d’en Serra and APBCN Eixample Center on Street Roger de Flor, you can get an auto,matic chec-kin. Please ask our office.

Metal keys and plastic card keys: All other apartments have plastic or metal keys and clients are requested to pick up their keys at our main office located on street Carrer de València, 32 - 08015 Barcelona (Google maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/BT6zF) near Plaza España in central Barcelona. Nearest metro station is called Tarragona (green metro line L3).

Do we need to bring sheets and towels?
We provide bed linen and fresh towels in all of our apartments, no extra charge applied.
Does my apartment have Wi-Fi?
Yes, all our apartments have Wi-Fi included in the price. Each apartment has its own plastic folder where you will find the Wi-Fi instructions to connect to the Internet.
Do I need to do anything on the day of my check-out?
At the day of your departure, the latest check-out time is at 11AM. Please ask our office staff if you wish to check-out later. This service depends on the apartment’s availability.

Before you leave the apartment, simply make sure that you leave the keys on the table in the apartment.
Can I recycle my waste/garbage/trash?
We love visitors who keep the environment in mind and recycle their waste!
As a general rule in the city of Barcelona, garbage and trash should be thrown in the garbage containers on the street at night between 8PM - 10PM. Please make sure you do this especially the night before your departure day. For apartments located on narrow pedestrian streets, the trash should be placed on the street, outside the building entrace, at night between 8PM-10PM for the sanitation department to manually collect.

Here are the color codes for garbage recycling bins in Barcelona:

Grey dumpsters=normal garbage

Brown dumpster=organic waste

Blue=paper and cardboard

Green=glass

Yellow=metal, aluminum and plastic

There are also cartoons on the containers to avoid confusion and this makes recycling so much easier.

Do you have a 24h emergency number that I can call when your office is closed?
Yes, we do have a 24h call center receiving incoming emergency phone calls from our clients. The number is only provided to APBCN clients and you will find it in your check-in email. You can also browse on this website and find it in your reservation details: just click on "My Booking" in the upper right corner and log in to see your reservation details.
